Bernard Zen-Ruffinen opened the Conference by outlining the European marketplace and the current economic situation.  He explained the concept of VUCA: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity  and the general conditions in EMEA today. Across industries, volatility (the nature of change) uncertainty (lack of predictability) complexity (the multiple forces and organizational confusion) as well as the ambiguity (haziness of reality) gets in the way of our strategic talent efforts.

The science of talent is stable and constant – however, the global landscape is ever-changing. We’re in a crisis of values and trust in today’s leadership.  The next two days is about sharing experiences in leadership and talent development in these turbulent times – ensuring we have the foresight and strategic planning consciously applied to talent in all organizations.
